This happened to me two days ago, but it wasn’t a booty call, it was my new boyfriend who was a good friend of mine and we haven’t even been going out long. But we would hang out everyday and the second time we end up having sex (in the dark) my period has to come early. Worst part, we were on his bare white mattress that got totally stained, (kinda funny since there were even red hand prints) we ignored it because we were too uncomfrotable to talk about it. But we ended up hanging out the rest of the day just like nothing happened. At the end of the day I said sorry and he asked for what and I told him my life he seemed to get what I meant and said its alright. Which I thought was a little cold. And the next day, he didn’t text me til afternoon (being my new boyfriend we would text from the minute we woke up til we fell asleep) and he didn’t wanna hang out that day. I felt completely distroyed, I cried in bed all day. I’m really head over heels for him. But this has made me relieze how if he is a real man he’ll understand and look past it.

OMG! This just happened to me tonight. I foudn this by googling “started period during sex.” I was trying to regain some dignity by finding out this has happened to some one else. haha! So there is this guy that I just mess around with casually. We haven’t seen each other in over 6 months probably. Over the last couple of days we have been talking about hooking up. I finally decided to let him come over for a while. I had been hesitant because I had just taken my nuva ring out 2 days ago, but had not started my period. I assumed, like normally it just wasn’t going to come.
After we had the most amazing sex ever, in the dark of course, he kisses me and gets up and goes in the bathroom to clean up and dress. Then I hear “umm.. you bled on me.” I wanted to die!!!!! He laughed it off and didn’t act like it bothered him. I got him a towel and apologized. After he left in went in the room to change my sheets. I thought OMG he is never going to come back. I decided to make light of the situation and I text him “you showed me the meaning of ‘busting it wide open’…” He replied “that’s why I like you, your so cool about everything…” I feel better but that was still super embarrassing!!!!

This is so funny! This just happened to me!! I finally decided to talk to this gentleman that I had met through a mutual friend. He had been pursuing me diligently everyday. He would call, and text me at odd times just to check on me. He took me out to dinner, and came over my house a few times. No sex at this point.
This past saturday night I had been drinking and he text me out of the blue. I thought it would be nice to continue drinking with him so I suggested that he came and picked me up, and bring me home in the AM. He came and got me in his escallade and we went to his lovely home in Rowlette, TX. After about four glasses of Crown and Coke we started palying around a little in his California King sized bed. I told him that this wouldn’t be a good idea because I was on my period. I specifically let him know the deal. He just asked me if he needed to get a towel or something? (I have had plenty of RED sex before)I just said sure if you dont have a problem with it!! We had fun and it was good. He immediately got up and washed himself off, not saying much. Stayed in the bathroom for a long time. I passed out. I was abruptly woken up three hours later to him in the shower telling me that he had to run errands so he was gonna drop me off now! I could already feel the cold!! Why so early? 8am? He was trippin!! I got up and noticed the mess under me, and striped his bed. He put the sheets in the washing machine and we headed out. The drive home was cool, but I noticed he offered his cheek instead of his lips to kiss me as I got out of his car. Burrrr!! More Cold!!! Needless to say he hasn’t called me back since. Its been three days and nothing at all.
Just for my own sanity I had to text him this morning. I thanked him for the good time, and let him know that I was aware of his intentions all along. Plus a thumbs up on the Red Wings I left behind. Life is two short to let immature men that are jerks change the way you feel about yourself. This wasnt even a one night stand and I haven’t heard back from him. I’m not trippin!!

Another thing that could be done in the future, along with heeding Em and Lo’s excellent advice, is keeping a menstrual cup (I used Instead) in your purse. It allows you to have intercourse without putting towels down or staining the sheets and you don’t have to worry so much that your partner will turn out to be squeamish. Most guys are able to feel it during sex, but never to the point that it makes intercourse less pleasurable.

For a while, it seemed like every time I had an opportunity to hook up with somebody I was really into, it was always that time of the month. I’d always tell them about the menstrual cup and make sure they were okay with it beforehand (and surprisingly, each guy acted like it was the coolest thing he’d ever heard of and wanted to know more about how it worked). I never had any complaints and I was able to have great sex without feeling self-conscious.

That same situtation happened to me when I was about 25 or 26 with a casual fling in his early 30s. Had a messy period overnight and didn’t hear from him again. It was embarrassing, yes, but I wasn’t upset about it because of all the aforementioned reasons. While I was no more serious about him than was me, I still thought he could have been an adult about bodily functions, no matter how unattractive. (Seriously, talking about unattractive, guys you should see yourselves when you have an orgasm … the old Robin Williams stand-up about resembling Goofy is spot on.) Anyway, I ran into him at a bar several months later and after a few drinks found a way to jokingly ask him about it and he admitted that the situation suddenly crossed our relationship into the “too-much-information-this-is-the-crap-you-handle-with-a-girlfriend” category. I again mustered the humour needed to quip something about seeing more maturity displayed from a Cub Scout troop before excusing myself from his attention. I did receive flowers from him twice the following week, along with several phone messages that babbled inanely about wanting to pursue something more like a real relationship, but never agreed to see him again.

Given that everything is on such a small time-line, they have only been seeing each other for 2 weeks, if this was a few days ago, he could just be assuming she is still on her period and would not want to have sex now. He is young enough to possible realize you can have a period and still have sex, or had a past g.f. that did not like it. Hell, my g.f. is 47 and still won’t have sex while she is bleeding, no matter how much reassurance and attention I give her.

I once very vividly got my period during sex with a FWB. At first he thought his dick was broken. Then we joked about the crime scene sex (we have changed position numerous times and made quite a mess). But his sense of humor made it cool. Alas, he soon found a real girlfriend in the city, as I realized I *wanted* a real boyfriend. But still a good memory. No drama, no strings, just mutual attraction following my messy divorce. Just what the dr. ordered!
