I don’t necessarily think that everyone -should- do anything. Some people require experimentation to feel satisfied, or even to understand themselves fully, but some people are perfectly fine knowing what they want, and I don’t think there’s a prescribed ‘experience’ out there that’s the same for everyone.
Everyone should experiment with sexuality at some point – isn’t it a requirement at college anyway? I just met up with a couple old college gal pals and we joked about having a little hookup back in the day. Now, we’ve been through marriages and babies (them), but it’s always nice to have a sexy little secret.
But just don’t tell your guy you’ve done anything with girls, or you’ll have to tell him the story over and over and over again…
I find the question a little socially constraining. What if I don’t identify with the genders Western society has set in place for me…?
I’m taking two sex and gender courses this semester. It’s completely blowing my mind!! And for this new-found (more like rediscovered) ambiguity towards my own preferences regarding potential mates, I’m skipping this particular query.
I agree with impetuousoddity, I’m asexual and there’s not even an “other” choice to vote on.
(Okay, yes maybe it seems odd that someone who is asexual would be reading this blog, but to some of us sex is quite fascinating!)
