In honor of Valentine’s Day, we’re rerunning a series of lists dedicated to the film-genre equivalent of those little heart candies: the romantic comedy. We’ve covered classic rom coms, alternative love stories, the best overlooked ones, romantic comedies from the olden days, and the most overrated ones. Today we give you the 7 actors who should not be allowed to make another romantic comedy again by listing their body of sappy work. (And later this week we’ll close out the series with the 25 remaining worst rom coms ever made.) Behold these actors’ criminal rom-com oeuvre:
- Jason Biggs – My Best Friend’s Girl; Saving Silverman; Boys and Girls; American Pie; Loser; Anything Else; Wedding Daze; Over Her Dead Body
- Jennifer Lopez – Maid in Manhattan; Gigli; Jersey Girl; The Wedding Planner; Monster-in-Law
- Cameron Diaz – What Happens in Vegas; The Holiday; The Sweeetest Thing; There’s Something About Mary; A Life Less Ordinary; My Best Friend’s Wedding; Feeling Minnesota
- Matthew McConaughey – Fool’s Gold; Failure to Launch; How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days (actually, if we’re being totally honest, we kinda liked this one); The Wedding Planner; Ghosts of Girlfriends Past
- Freddie Prinze Jr. – She’s All That; Boys and Girls; Down to You; Head Over Heels; Summer Catch
- Ashton Kutcher - Just Married; My Boss’s Daughter; Guess Who; A Lot Like Love (actually, if we’re being totally honest, we kinda liked this one too); What Happens in Vegas; Valentine’s Day (we’re guessing it’s gonna suck Whitman’s)
- Drew Barrymore (the worst of the bunch!) – Everyone Says I Love You; The Wedding Singer; Ever After; Home Fries; Never Been Kissed; Duplex; 50 First Dates; Fever Pitch; Music and Lyrics; Lucky You; He’s Just Not that Into You

I love Jason Biggs! I wouldn’t call Saving Silverman and American Pie rom coms, they’re stupid-funny movies, and they’re good for what they are.

While I can see how Diaz starred in a lot of atrocious Rom Coms, I’d say that There’s Something About Mary is worth all the duds.

You forgot Jennifer Aniston!

I cannot watch anything with Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock (YET to make a decent movie, HOW does she still get parts?) Vince Vaughn, (smarmy much?) or….Julia Roberts. The worst. Laughing with your mouth open like a horse is NOT an acting ability. Pretty Woman STUNK and was a wholesale endorsement that “Prostitution is a good way to Get the Fairy Tale, Go For It” (great message to young women.) Yuck.

Madamoiselle, I have never been a big fan of Julia Roberts or Sandra Bullock. But I hate Vince Vaughn, he makes me skin crawl and when I see him I don’t see a romantic man, I see someone who looks two steps away from a serial Killer and he creeps me out. I don’t think I have watched a Rom-com in years, they make me want to slam my head into a wall.

Ben Stiller – funny but not a romantic lead!

I am pretty sure Katherine Hiegl has been in more terrible rom coms than like half these people combined, that is how bad they are.

Amen, Erin. Vaughn looks like the wife beating pimp monger who just quit the Illinois race for Lt Gov. (Cohen, the guy’s name is. Illinois, it would be funny, if I didn’t have to live here.)

Umm…. what are so bad about 60% of these? Isn’t part of the main idea of rom com to not be a deep complicated storyline? It’s supposed to be something light, enjoyable, movie junk food (thus the romantic COMEDY). I’m kind of left wondering what rom coms you guys DO like.
