Do You Have Good Playdar?

Playdar is the casual sex equivalent of gaydar: when your sixth sense tells you that the person you’re dry-humping on the dance floor will be more than amenable to your dirty suggestion, whether that’s joining you and your partner for a threeway, dressing up in a leotard and leg warmers and riding you like a balance beam, or simply coming back to your place and going “all the way.”

So tell us: Do you have good playdar? Or do your dirty suggestions more often end up with an overpriced cocktail in a plastic cup thrown in your face? Embarrassing stories in the comments section, please…

  1. I don’t really understand what playdar mean i enjoy sex in lot of different positions i am straight don’t go for kinky stuff so i would like to know what playdar mean if maybe its kinky.

  2. Do women need this? Guys don’t very have delicate sensibilities. I usually come on offensively lewd/ like I’m in a porno, and the only guy who’s ever shut me down did so because he was 10 years my senior. Like C said though, girls are harder.

I don’t need playdar… how do you sense that a guy is not only willing to hook up, but has respect for sexually aggressive women? I need that.

  3. I’m good at the playdar, but I can’t destinguish people wanting to play, and people wanting to commit. It’s a problem!

  4. I can usually tell pretty easily, but that rarely means I’m actually interested in the dude! I use it to gauge whether I need to cool things down on the dance floor or at the bar to avoid an awkward rejection scenario later.

  5. hopefully i’m clueless. Either i’m clueless, or no one is interested. i only see someone that i think might be interested once in a great while.

  6. I’m an absolute pro. However, I’m an attractive girl, so most any male is down. Getting girls in the sack is a little more trouble, but then again, that’s far and beyond playdar, that’s where my finely tuned GAYdar comes into play.

  7. I guess I do know, when there aren’t any feelings involved whatsoever… When feelings are in the game, things get all muddled for me, but when I’m playing the game like a seductress I can definetly point that out!

  8. Odd paradox, I can spot it a mile away when a friend is on someone’s radar but I’m completely oblivious to signals thrown my way. In fact I’d say I’m famous for missing signals.

  9. Nope! I’m completely clueless. Which might explain why I’m not so into the whole casual scene. 😉

I kind of compensate by just asking anybody I’m interested in without trying to guess whether I’ll be successful. You get more misses than hits that way, which can suck sometimes, but c’est la vie.
