Dream Interpretation: I Hooked Up with a Co-Worker

Other people’s dreams are never interesting…except when they’re about sex. Each week, our dream analyst Lauri Loewenberg tells one lucky reader what their dirty dream means. This week, a reader asks Lauri:

I keep having dreams about an old co-worker. The dreams started two years ago. The first two dreams I had involved engaging in a passionate kiss and me running away. The third dream was him telling me how he felt about me. The fourth dream was the beginning of our relationship. The final dream involved us being intimate and him telling me he never had any deep feelings for me.

The guy in my dream was a guy I worked with for two years. We teased each other all the time. He would start most of the teasing. He would do things just to get a reaction out of me. I also felt like he was keeping tabs on me because he would find out things I was doing or question me. All of our co-workers said we flirted with each other and that we are in denial. Before he left to go to another job, I told him that I liked him. He never responded as to how he felt, but he kept coming around. Later on, this guy and me started hanging out. We ended up being intimate with each other.

Lauri: I like how your dreams progress in the story line each time! Writers tend to dream this way, by the way. It also typically means your inner mind is planning, conniving, and thinking ahead about some issue it wants to resolve or some goal it wants to reach. I think it’s pretty clear what goal it wanted to reach, huh? Your dreams seem to have played out somewhat similarly to how real life played out… because your intuition was at work here showing you what you could expect from this relationship.

You end with telling us that the two of you did indeed become intimate with each other, but you didn’t say if a relationship ensued or if it was a one-night stand. Where are the juicy details, lady? Nonetheless, your dream does seem to be warning you that the relationship may not go much deeper than sex. Which is fine if that’s all you wanted as well. But if you wanted more, well, don’t say your dreams didn’t warn you! Remember, your dreams are the way your intuition often gives you a heads up, so never dismiss your dreams.
