Other people’s dreams are never interesting…except when they’re about sex. Each week, our dream analyst Lauri Loewenberg tells one lucky reader what their dirty dream means. This week, a reader asks Lauri:
My boyfriend said he had a dream that someone pushed me off the Empire State Building. He said he went to catch me and he grabbed my shoulder as I was pushed. He lost balance and woke up.
Lauri: Okay, since this is his dream you’ll have to do your best to get inside his head for me. The Empire State Building most likely represents the relationship you two have “built” together. The Empire State Building is quite a tall and impressive structure, so this suggests he feels that your relationship is quite solid and has risen above the other relationships he has built.
However, there does seem to be a bit of concern for him regarding the relationship. Is there anyone around you that he feels is pressuring or “pushing you” to bail on him? Or is there any sort of let down you, he, or both of you have had to endure?
I think it’s a good sign that, even though he lost his balance, he grabbed your shoulder. To the dreaming mind the shoulder represents strength, an ability to “shoulder” responsibilities as well as being supportive of others, “a shoulder to cry on,” so to speak. I believe his dream is showing him that despite the imbalance or the pressure others may be putting on you two, the relationship is strong.
