Other people’s dreams are never interesting…except when they’re about sex. Each week, our dream analyst Lauri Loewenberg tells one lucky reader what their dirty dream means. This week, a male reader asks Lauri:

I am a straight male in a long-term relationship with a woman. Recently I dreamt I was in a room with a group of guys — I didn’t see faces, so none of them was someone I knew. Directly in front of me is a guy sitting in a chair with his hands behind him. His hands are not tied, he is just resting them behind his back. He is naked and has a large erection. I am kneeling on the floor naked performing oral sex on him. I stop and sit back for a brief period. There is murmuring and giggling in the background.

Suddenly, without warning, I lean forward and tickle his erection just below the tip rapidly with my tongue. After about 7 to 10 seconds he ejaculates high in the air — about 2 of 3 feet, like a fountain. Some of it lands on my face and the whole room bursts out in hearty laughter, including me. What this mean? Do I secretly wish to have a sexual encounter with another man?

Lauri: Having a “gay” dream does not imply that you have hidden homosexual tendencies. If there are any tendencies there at all, you’d know it. Yes, our dreams sometimes do make us wonder about ourselves… especially the naughty ones! That’s because we often look at our dreams literally. You can’t do that. It will drive you CRAZY! Dreams are symbolic in nature. You don’t look AT your dream, you look INTO your dream in order to understand it.

So, no, your dream does not mean that you secretly desire to orally pleasure a man. Sex in a dream is actually rarely about sexual desires at all. Neither is oral sex. Oral sex is more about intimate communication. At the time of this dream, do you recall having an open and honest (represented by the nudity of the man) conversation with someone? All the men in the room and your male recipient most likely represent the male energy it took to have this conversation, meaning it took “balls” to say whatever was said.

You were the giver in the dream, which indicates you were the one in waking life that initiated the conversation. Even though the other person may have “stood firm,” hence the erection, it seems you were able to make that person “come” around with a bit of humor at the end, evidenced by the tickle.

The enormous gush of man juice suggests that this was a big release or relief and you both are now rather satisfied and can perhaps even laugh at whatever the issue was to begin with. This was, pretty much, the way your dreaming mind was patting you on the back for a “job” well done.
