Kanye West & Taylor Swift Just Can’t Get Along

On his forthcoming album titled (for now) The Life of Pablo, Kanye West raps the following line in the song “Famous”:

I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that bitch famous.

Apparently, he’s referring to the time he interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards for Best Female Video for the song “You Belong with Me,” saying the following meme-worthy lines before being booed off stage:

“Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, Imma let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time [“Single Ladies”]…one of the best videos of all time!”

In response to the preview of his album and the song last week, Swift’s PR people released this statement:

Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous.

And so, when she won her second Grammy for Album of the Year this past Sunday (the first time a female artist has ever done that), Swift had this to say:
