Other people’s dreams are never interesting…except when they’re about sex. Each week, our dream analyst Lauri Loewenberg tells one lucky reader what their dirty dream means. This week, a reader asks Lauri:
I recently dreamed that I went back to college as I am now — a twenty-six year old. I ended up befriending two first year boys who were kind of dorky but cute and who thought, because I was older, I was incredibly hot. They basically followed me around and worshipped me. One day I was getting in the shower with a towel wrapped around me when the shower curtain broke. For some reason they were nearby to help. Suddenly we were all tumbling into the tub together, making out. Then it was just me and one of the boys (the cuter of the two), but somehow we’d reversed roles; he became this beautifully androgynous female and I was the male — I could feel what I guess my brain imagines a penis feels like thrusting. I definitely got incredibly aroused. After the sex, we noticed the other boy had died. We agreed to leave and not tell anyone what happened. I felt like we had killed him, but I’m not sure how. What on god’s green earth does THIS mean?
Lauri: LOL! Well, let’s see if we can figure it out. Going back to college either means you need to reclaim a part of who you were when you were a college gal OR there is something you need to learn to do right now. It could be anything from a new skill or a life lesson.
The two dorky guys in this dream, strangely enough, are a part of you. What are you feeling a little quirky about right now? Most often, unknown men in a woman’s dream are symbolic of her own so-called male assertiveness, that part of you that can grow a pair and handle your business, put your foot down and all that fun stuff. Now, the fact that they are worshipping suggests that you actually are quite proud of yourself in many ways. However, there must be something going on right now that is causing you to feel timid or awkward.
The shower is a very important part of this dream. It suggests that there is a certain level of cleansing that needs to take place in your life. There is something or someone you need to wash right out of your life, and in order to make this happen you need to “man up,” and “get ‘er done.” All the tumbling that takes place is – again – connected to you feeling awkward about this and not being sure footed or determined. The tumble can also indicate a fear that you may “slip up.”
The tawdry part is actually a good sign that you did indeed integrate that male assertiveness into your self, hence the sex. Oh yes, let’s not forget that appendage that you grew. Need I say more? This is the saying “man up” brought to life! But alas, the other, lesser dweeb did not make it. That is okay. I believe that is a good sign you found just the right balance of assertiveness that you needed to handle your business.
