… Can’t I just dislike the book, for normal reasons? Like I found it boring? Or predictable?
“I keep reading this crap about it and think that those who hold the opinion have neglected to read all 4 books or take a look at the power Bella has over every man in all of them.”
This sparks a question in me, since I’ve never read any of these books. Does Bella “hold power” over these men because of her intelligence, ingenuity or some other facet of her personality or because they’re all lusting after her?
I love Scrabble, and I’m girly enough that I have a pink Nintendo DS; however, I hope no one decides to give me that “Designer’s Edition” Scrabble!
He is a fucking vampire. So, I think she is allowed to be a bit “weak” around him. I keep reading this crap about it and think that those who hold the opinion have neglected to read all 4 books or take a look at the power Bella has over every man in all of them.
I’d like to call bullshit on the “Twilight is sexist” thing. That article was so silly, overthought, and ridiculously wrong.
Bella is not weak. She is strong enough to know what she wants.
Edward is oldfashioned, well, um, ya, he is from another time!
I would argue that Bella is submissive and Edward is dominant. What’s so wrong with having a dynamic. Feminist, pro-sex, liberal submissives unite!
