Other people’s dreams are never interesting…except when they’re about sex. Each week, our dream analyst Lauri Loewenberg tells one lucky reader what their dirty dream means. This week, a straight woman asks Lauri:
I dreamed that I was in a hostel (perhaps because I’ve just returned from backpacking in Europe) and I bumped into Lindsay Lohan. Somehow I managed to convince Lindsay to follow me to a room, and when we got there we began to make out. There were two single beds and a bunkbed in the room, and as I pinned Lindsay down and began to kiss my way down her body, a head popped up from under the blanket of the other single bed — it was a guy friend from a clique I’d quarreled with two years ago and haven’t spoken to since. He said he was waiting for an orgy, but since we preferred to keep it to just us (Lindsay and me) he said he’d just watch.
In the dream, Lindsay and I were quite buzzed on alcohol and we had quite wonderful foreplay, kissing, stroking and gentle humping against each other, when suddenly four people sat up from the top of the bunkbed! They were all male friends from that same group that I’d quarreled with, including an ex-boyfriend of mine whom I’m on amicable terms with. They had all been watching Lindsay and I go at it. By this time both of us felt distinctly uncomfortable and we decided to stop having sex because it was just strange doing it with so many people watching. We left the room and parted ways and nothing else came of that!
What does it mean? I have never had any sort of a crush on Lindsay Lohan! I am also straight and engaged to the love of my life. I have considered attractions to women before but concluded that I love men too much to ever have any sort of lasting relationship with them.
Lauri: When celebrities make cameos in our dreams you can bet it’s for a reason! The key to figuring out why is to ask yourself what that particular celebrity is best known for. Is it a movie role, a song, a TV show? You then need to see if you can connect that song title, movie role, etc., to your life right now, and once you do, you’ll get the message! Lindsay, Lindsay, Lindsay… so many things come to mind regarding this gal. My guess is that your dreaming mind is using her because her most popular movie is Mean Girls. Your dream seems to be commenting on the fact that, at the time of this dream, you were in a “hostile” situation in your life, hence the hostel setting in the dream. Was someone around you being “mean” to you? The other characters in your dream are people whom you have quarreled with. So this recent situation must feel the same as that past situation did. Sex in a dream — even though it is often as enjoyable as the real thing — is actually about “coming together” with the qualities of your lover in the dream. Lindsay’s character was a good girl gone bad, gone good again. Perhaps you were recently trying to overcome your bad girl self and play the good girl in the waking life situation… but just as it was getting hot and heavy and too many people were wanting to get in on the action in the dream, things were probably getting too involved and complicated and “heated” in waking life. It seems that the message your dream was giving you was to be aware of how this is making you look to others and just walk away.

wow! that’s really revealing. I’ve always wondered what my dreams meant when they did things sort of similar to this. It’s interesting to see the way you make connections from seemingly miniscule details to big meaningful wake-time events.
