Other people’s dreams are never interesting…except when they’re about sex. Each week, our dream analyst Lauri Loewenberg tells one lucky reader what their dirty dream means. Got a dream you want Lauri to analyze? Click here to submit it (18 and older only for dream interpretations, please). This week, a reader asks Lauri:
I’ve been having this recurring dream where I, a female, am in love with another female. I am in a heterosexual relationship, and I am entirely heterosexual myself. At first I didn’t think much of it because I am a gay rights activist and thought maybe it was just manifesting in my dream. However, I’ve now had quite a few of these dreams (almost like a story) in which each dream I am pursuing the same woman, a friend of mine who is coincidently a lesbian herself. What is my subconscious telling me?
Lauri: Girl-on-girl dreams are very common and yet are rarely connected to an actual physical attraction. So don’t worry, your current relationship is solid! However, the love you felt in the dream is indeed a real emotion but it’s not love for this particular woman but rather love for what she represents.
You mentioned you were a gay rights activist and that she is gay. So perhaps she represents what you are fighting for and the love you feel in the dream is really the love you have for the cause. In your dreams you are actively pursuing her and in real life you are actively pursuing the cause of gay rights. The dreams progress because gay rights are progressing.
I’d bet the farm that’s what your dreams are connected to and as far as wanting to know what your subconscious is telling you… well… keep fighting the good fight, do what you love, follow your heart and so on. In other words, yay you!
