Other people’s dreams are never interesting…except when they’re about sex & relationships. If you’ve got a good one, our dream analyst Lauri Loewenberg just might tell you what it means! I’ve dreamt that my boyfriend shot me in the head after I decided to leave him due to constantly cheating…
Lauri: Getting shot in a dream often means you have been the victim of someone’s wounding remarks in real life. And to be shot in the head indicates a blow to your ego. Did your boyfriend shoot off his mouth at you, criticize you or insult your intelligence in some way recently?
He shoots you after you decide to leave in the dream, which means he must have gotten upset with you after you made some decision in real life. But let’s get down to the nitty gritty here. Is he constantly cheating in real life? If so, you DO need to leave already and this dream is simply expressing your fear of following through on the decision… You fear that he may be able to change your mind, hence getting shot in the head.
If he isn’t cheating in real life but only in the dream, then you must feel he is constantly giving his time, energy and/or affection to something that doesn’t involve you, such as work or some project or hobby. In this case, getting shot in the head may reflect your fear that he will “shoot down” your concern over this issue.
Whatever the case, this dream shows that something is weighing heavy on your mind (your head in a dream will symbolize your knowledge, intellect, ego or that which is on your mind) and it is time to be honest with yourself and address it.
Response from dreamer: Yes, I’m currently experiencing those issues and it’s been over the last 5 years or so, and yes I fear leaving. Thanks so much…
