10 Good Reasons Why Women Have Sex

why_women_have_sex2Why Women Have Sex by Cindy Meston and David Buss is on sale now

It seems like everyone right now is talking about that new book Why Women Have Sex, by Cindy Meston and David Buss. Apparently lots of women reported having sex to keep the peace, to stave off boredom, to relieve a headache, or to get their husbands to take out the trash (oh, yeah, and occasionally because they’re in the mood, too). And everyone’s acting like it’s this huge deal that 100% of the women didn’t say that, 100% of the time, they have sex because they’re so turned on they can’t think straight. Sure, sometimes women have sex for fairly unsexy reasons…and sometimes they have sex for more, shall we say, honorable ones — which includes, but isn’t limited to, being so turned on they can’t think straight Here are 10 (and please, add your own reasons in the comments section below!):

  1. Because you’re horny, duh. Especially if you’ve been watching lx tube.
  2. Because even if you’re not in the mood, 99.9% of the time you get in the mood once you start.
  3. Because it’s (almost) impossible to argue while having sex.
  4. Because you just received the most amazing 30-minute back-rub and your partner didn’t even try to segue the massage into sex.
  5. Because your partner is hot stuff.
  6. Because you still remember thinking there’s no way this person would ever look twice at you…and then they did.
  7. Because orgasms are an excellent stress reliever.
  8. Because you’ve got a partner who makes sure you always orgasm first, who doesn’t expect it to happen from intercourse, and who doesn’t immediately roll over after he’s spent.
  9. Because your neighbors are really annoying and you want to do it loudly to remind them that you have a better sex life than they do.
  10. Because sex with someone you love is (to paraphrase one-time Quaker Oats spokesman Wilford Brimley) the right thing to do and a tasty way to do it.

  1. I like number 7. I also like to have sex as much, and sometimes even more than my guy… I wish people would stop thinking it’s weird that women might actually WANT to have sex often.

Oh – I also seriously agree that post-sex sleep is often the best sensation ever. Okay, maybe it ties with orgasms. Lol. I do like to cuddle sometimes – but that usually happens because of the type of sex we have (Super romantic, intimate type sex = cuddle time!). Thankfully though, my guy is almost always on the same page. It’s never something I have to worry about. 🙂

  2. Thanks for the insights…I will make sure to keep a note of all of this.

“8.Because you’ve got a partner who makes sure you always orgasm first, who doesn’t expect it to happen from intercourse, and who doesn’t immediately roll over after he’s spent.”

I usually make sure to get one out through oral sex…however, I’ve picked up a thing or two, and can make my lady orgasm on a regular basis from penetration alone…check it out:

“How I Make a Woman Orgasm from Penetration alone, and in Under 5 Minutes.”

Pass by and share your thoughts!

  3. Because sex is the only thing on the planet that offers pleasure, satisfaction, intimate connection, orgasmic bliss, and if you’re lucky, maybe even love…for free!!

And it’s way better than television.

  4. because i love him. because i want to feel closer to him. because nothing, i mean nothing, feels better than each others bodies being intertwined and staring into each other’s eyes. and sometimes just because i want to please him.

  5. Because I enjoy it as much as my (male) partner does. Its such a stupid myth that boy always want sex and girls don’t.. Silly World haven’t we gotten past this yet!

  6. Sometimes after sex I don’t want to be touched at all, I want to use the bathroom and then pass out. Thats it. Cuddling is nice, but really after great sex I want to sleep. It’s not that i don’t deeply love my partner, but I think I’m over that very commercialized idea of sex. He does like to cuddle unfourtunatly and it hurts his feelings if i don’t, but sometimes i do like to do it if it was more like love making and not just sex. It still doesn’t mean that all women want to cuddle or that we need to talk and talk and go over move by move the nights events.

  7. I completely agree with Dana. I’m never interested in cuddling and would rather just roll over and peacefully drift off to sleep. If fact, orgasm is such a good sleep inducer to me that masturbation is an almost instant cure for any sudden bouts of insomnia. Works every time.

  8. I’ve never understood the general female sentiment (and I am female) that it’s a negative thing to “roll over” and fall asleep after sex. In my opinion, your level of exhaustion/sleepiness is directly proportional to how good the sex was. After a really fantastic session, if I lie perfectly still I can have the most wonderful floating sensation, like not having a body at all (or a modified version, where I just can’t feel my legs). That obliteration of sensation, directly following the most intense physical sensations, and the deep tiredness that immediately follows constitute the cherry on top of my sundae. I don’t want to cuddle, and I certainly don’t need to talk.

I have only my own experience to go on, but I always suspect if a woman is interested in cuddling and having an important personal conversation right after sex, she probably didn’t actually have an orgasm, or enough orgasms, or the one she had wasn’t strong enough.

Honestly, if everyone just lies there quietly and nobody makes any sudden movements, we could all just drift off into the most wonderful, deep post-sex sleep, which is one of the best things life has to offer. I urge you to give it some serious consideration.
